The Dunsborough Arts Festival

The Dunsborough Art Festival began in 2002 and continues to grow its reputation as a weekend that encourages our local youth and their families, residents and visitors to the region to connect with our community through active participation and celebration of the arts

It is held traditionally on the Labour Day March Long weekend in Western Australia

The event hosts a range of organized activities that integrate art and musical activities.  Click on the links below to see the dates, whats planned for 2012 and how to enter.

• An Art Market for local artisans to display and sell their work
• An art tent for local artisans to conduct workshops for children
• Various instrumental, circus and family orientated workshops and performances
• The Dunsborough X Factor is in its 3rd year and showcase’s the musical talents of local Dunsborough youth
• Provide refreshments using local food vendors and local wineries including healthy food options in the menu list
• A Free Sunday Evening Family Concert that uses regional bands and soloists
• Sculpture By the Bay runs on the Saturday and Sunday of this weekend 
• NEW for 2012 - a proposed Classics Evening Concert

 

The DDPA continue to host the Dunsborough Art Festival Project to:

• Ensure that this event remains on the Dunsborough calendar of events and to continue to celebrate the only art event that uses the natural environmental stage of the Dunsborough Foreshore to connect our community with our cultural aspirations

•  Support the Dunsborough community by providing an opportunity for our youth to participate in public performance in a safe and secure environment and a place to showcase local artisans and musicians on an annual basis

• Foster a stronger community following in the arts by providing opportunities for our residents and visitors to the region to connect, participate and interact with the arts and musical activities of this region on an annual basis

• Ensure that cultural development of the arts remains on the agenda for Dunsborough by continuing to consolidate this event and develop individual events such as Dunsborough X Factor, Sculpture by the Bay into ongoing, viable and significant events on the cultural calendar of this region.
